| Choose the 85-horsepower
Falcon Six (with its famed up-to-30-mpg on regular gas economy) or
the brand-new high-performance Falcon 170 Special Six (with 101 horsepower
and more ginger and agility). Both are proven overhead valve Sixes
- efficient, thrifty, dependable. Both are available with standard
3-speed manual transmission, or silken-smooth 2-speed Falcon Fordomatic.

 |
Falcon 144 Six Industry's outstanding example of
engine design. Combines up to 30-miles-per-gallon fuel economy with
reliability of in-line, overhead valve engine. Highly advanced lightweight
engine block of proven cast iron, one piece manifold and head, and modern
short stroke design provide greater efficiency and durability. Standard
engine on all Falcons. (shown at left) |
|
Falcon 170 Special Six An all-new Falcon engine
delivering that welcome bit of extra power for mountain driving, difficult
terrain, or faster take-offs - with traditional Falcon fuel economy. Like
the Falcon 144 Six, an "over-square" engine (piston stroke shorter than
bore diameter), for greater maintenance economy and longer engine life.
Factory installed on all Falcons at an extra cost of $37.40 (shown at
right) |

 |
Falcon Standard Transmission Specially mated to
the Falcon engine you specify. Standard 144 Six takes 1.75 to 1 second
gear ratio for maximum economy; 170 Special Six fitted with 1.83 to 1
ratio for top performance. Standard on all Falcon models. |
|
Falcon Fordomatic Transmission Specially designed
to provide Falcon owners with budget-priced convenient automatic shift. No
servicing normally required other than routine checks of transmission oil
levels every 4,000 miles. Factory installed and optional on all Falcons at
an extra cost of $163.10. |
