It was fall of 1961, homecoming
time. Time for football and homecoming parades. At Mitchell high, in the
fall of 1961, the homecoming queen was none other than my sister, Kay. I
still have a picture of her riding in the homecoming parade. My dad would
not let her ride in anything but a Ford, of course. He managed to snap a
picture of her riding on top of that big beautiful brand new 1962
Sunliner, right in front of the dealership on Main Street in Mitchell,
South Dakota. Here is the car she was riding in:
1962 Galaxie Sunliner
Raven Black
White top
Thunderbird 352 2V
Cruise-O-Matic Transmission
750X14 4pr WSW tires
Power brakes
Power steering
Magic-Aire heater
Push button radio
Tinted windshield
2 speed electric wipers and washers
Padded dash and visors
MSRP $3741.70
2G65X100860

Take a look at that VIN. This was a very early Sunliner!
It was sold new to a James Brown on October 20th, 1961. He traded in a 1959
Lincoln 4 door.
The story about my sister is actually true!
Have a Ford filled day!

1967 Mustang Convertible
1967 Mustang GTA Fastback Drag

And who knows what I will drag
