Two-barrel carburetor, automatic choke, adjustment-free hydraulic valves lifters. Also available: 164-horsepower Galaxie 260 V-8.
Thunderbird 352 V-8 - 220 horsepower. Plenty of regular gas GO is yours with this lively V-8- an ideal Ford wagon engine option. Two-barrel carburetor with automatic choke, oil-smooth hydraulic valve lifters and high-lift camshaft. Electronically mass-balanced (as are all Ford engines) for smooth, quiet power and long life.
Thunderbird 4-V/390 V-8 - 300 horsepower. Lusty power with luxurious smoothness - heart of famed Thunderbird performance in the Thunderbird's own great powerplant. Four-barrel carburetion, free-turn aluminized valves with automatic hydraulic lifters, low-restriction, smooth-flow manifolds...all features of a great V-8.
Thunderbird 4-V/427 High Performance V-8 - 410 horsepower. Swift acceleration and top range output to please the most exacting performance fan. Responsive 4-barrel carburetion, special high-speed, dual breaker ignition, solid valve lifters and special valve springs...a few of the many features for high output capability.
Thunderbird 8-V/427 High Performance V-8 - 425 horsepower. Spectacular acceleration and top speed with two matched, synchronized 4-barrel carburetors; special manifolding, low-restriction exhaust headers. Extra-high capacity oil and fuel systems. Transistorized ignition and alternator optional with both 427 V-8s.

A = Synchro-Smooth Drive - Fully synchronized 3-speed manual, column-mounted shift.

B = Ford Overdrive - adds an "automatic" economy gear to Synchro-Smooth to stretch gas mileage, cuts engine RPMs by 28% and reduces engine wear. Accelerator-pedal controlled downshift for quick passing.
