| What makes
Mercury Montego a winner? In 1969, it's a spectacular new engine lineup
and a fresh new appearance - advances that will continue Montego's
vigorous challenge in the intermediate-size market.
Performance is supplied by a larger,
standard 250-cubic-inch Six and two new 351-cubic inch V-8s that provide
brisk acceleration, flashing power, improved durability and traditional
economy. Topping the six-engine field is a 335 horsepower, CJ 428 V-8.
Exterior styling refinements and new
levels of interior luxury give added character to the nine models in the
Comet Sports Coupe, Montego, Montego MX, and Montego MX Brougham series.
Sleek intermediate performance entry is the Mercury Cyclone (a specially
modified version was champion of the race tracks in 1968). Sportiest of
all is the Cyclone CJ with optional Ram Air induction. |
