Mercury Marquis

Success Story of the Upper-Medium-Price Market

The Mercury Marquis Brougham 4-door hardtop - Flagship of the 1970 Mercury line.
The Marquis for 1970 is a classic car, elegant in style and exquisitely detailed.

New front and rear designs give the Marquis a clean, crisp appearance. The new die-cast grille has a horizontal pattern and concealed headlamps, yet the distinctive Continental look is retained. The seven-model Marquis lineup, which ranges from the convertible to 4-door hardtop, offers a new dimension in interior comfort. Nylon-faced upholstery fabrics combine with soft-textured vinyl to add new passenger compartment luxuriousness.

Stars of the Marquis series: the classy convertible and the exclusive Colony Park wagon.
A new standard ventilation system improves air flow through the vehicle by up to 50 percent. The addition of approximately 35 pounds of soundproofing materials to strategic areas contributes to an unusually quiet ride. Among an array of standard features is the 429-cubic inch V-8 engine, and Select-Shift transmission, which allows the driver to change gears manually or automatically.

In the all-new Marquis Brougham series, standard Twin-Comfort Lounge split-front seats can be adjusted individually, fore and aft, to the driver's and passenger's personal preferences. Individual fold-down center armrests also add a prestige note and contribute to the Marquis Brougham's living-room comfort. Door armrests include new pull-type door handles.

A complete list of options, including various engines, power assists, appearance items, and comfort-convenience equipment, increases the custom-tailored quality of the '70 Marquis.
