The Better Idea Cars for 1970 |
| Mustang
Number One on the Sporty Car Scene |
 |
| Mustang's seven models - hardtop,
SportsRoof, convertible, Grande hardtop, Mach 1 SportsRoof, Boss 302, and
the limited production Boss 429 - have been given fresh lines front and
rear, new interiors, and new bright colors in hues of blue, orange, and
green.
Mustang offers new high-back bucket front seats in all models.
Interiors have bold new colors and patterned upholstery in stripes and
houndstooth fabrics. Steering wheels are of a new modified-oval design,
which provides a better view of the instrument panel and also adds more
room between the seat and the wheel. |
 |
| Exterior design changes include a restyled
grille, revised rear panel with recessed taillamps, new vinyl roof colors
and patterns including a sporty houndstooth, and new ornamentation.
To enhance Mustang's performance, a new 351-cubic inch, 300-horsepower,
4-barrel V-8 has been added, while the 200-cubic inch, 120-horsepower Six
has been given a 250-cubic inch engine cylinder head and new carburetion
for improved economy. Seven additional choices are offered in the
Mustang's engine lineup. |
