Ford Ranger is the luxury pickup.
The Ford light-duty truck story for 1970 is sleeker silhouettes, more luxury and style, and mechanical improvements - an ideal package for both work and recreational use. Increasing emphasis on luxury is demonstrated in Ford's F-100, F-250, and F-350 pickups, where the new Ranger XLT is available in all series. Among XLT's standard features are simulated wood-grain appliqué on the tailgate, side molding, and luxurious upholstery and trim.

Club Wagons and Econoline Vans make Ford a standout in the recreational and commercial fields. This year, these models have automatic chokes, new 42-ampere alternators and special new tire options. The Ranchero, a luxury pickup that is half-car and half-truck is all new, and is highlighted by the Ranchero Squire model with simulated wood-grain appliqués on sides and tailgate. The rugged Bronco introduces a new automatic choke and a new fiberglass-belted tire option on its 1970 models. Electric wipers, a favorite last year, are standard.
