The
Skyliner shown above was one of the first cars to have a transparent roof,
the other being the 1954 Mercury Monterey Sun Valley. While never
setting any sales records, the "see-through" Fords and Mercurys did
establish Ford as being a design innovator, especially in the low-price
field. These cars, unusual in their day, are some of the most prized of
all Fords and Mercurys among the people who LOVEfords today.
