1943 - 1945 Like all other United States automobile manufacturers, Ford's assembly lines shut down to passenger car production from approximately February of 1942 until August of 1945. During this time Ford plants were busy rolling out airplanes, Jeeps, and whatever else was needed to help with "the effort" of winning World War II.
