Wayside Inn
Since 1797, this inn has
welcomed travelers who came first by foot or on horse, then by stagecoach
and later by car. It has been called America's first motor inn. Breakfast,
lunch, and dinner served; overnight accommodations. Located in Middletown,
Virginia about 75 miles east of Washington, D.C., on US Highway 11. |
Aunt Rebekah's Pecan Pie

Ingredients:
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 cups maple syrup
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup pecans
- 9-inch unbaked pie shell
Directions:
1. To the beaten eggs, add
the sugar.
2. Stir in syrup, salt, and
vanilla
3. Add pecans
4. Pour into unbaked pie
shell; bake for 10 minutes in 450-degree oven.
5. Reduce heat to
350-degrees, bake for 30-35 minutes or until knife inserted in center
comes out clean.
