Wayside Inn
Since 1797, this inn has
welcomed travelers who came first by foot or on horse, then by stagecoach
and later by car. It has been called America's first motor inn. Breakfast,
lunch, and dinner served; overnight accommodations. Located in Middletown,
Virginia about 75 miles east of Washington, D.C., on US Highway 11. |
Mother-in-Law's Mustard

Ingredients:
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 cup of dry mustard
- pinch each of: cinnamon,
cloves, onion salt, garlic salt, white pepper
- 1 cup prepared mustard
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
1. Combine the vinegar with
the dry mustard and the "pinch" ingredients. Mix well, let set for 2
hours. 2. Cook
mixture in a double boiler until thick and let cool.
3. Add prepared mustard and
olive oil; blend well. Makes 1 1/2 pints |
